Bullock County was created on Dec. 5, 1866 from Barbour, Macon, Montgomery and Pike Counties, though its boundaries were changed in Feb 1867. This particular county was named in honor of Confederate Col. Edward C. Bullock of Barbour County.
Currently the Bullock County Seat is located in Union Springs (was chosen as the county seat in 1867) and in addition the county government website is unknown
